    migrating from UCCX 4.0(5) 5.02

I will be migrating a Customer of ours from 4.05 to 5.02 this coming weekend and I am looking for any tidbits that anyone could provide to assist me with this migration.  So far all I have been able to find on-line is to backup the scripts, prompts, and applications  and do a fresh install of the new OS and then import your scripts and prompts back in and test, I have also been told that I need to reopen all the scripts save them and then reupload them.  Is there any other items or good articles that I should be looking at online for this project?  I am planning to open up a P3 Case with Cisco to have as a backup plan.

    Thanks

     Hello,

Yes, there are several "land mines" that you don't know.  First and foremost.  Where you aware that Historical Reports data ( Call Centers historical data ) IS NOT MIGRATED?  There is also no tool to re-import the data into CRS 5.x.  You will loose that data forever if you don't back it up before you do the export of the old scripts and prompts, etc.

So effectively you have two options here:

    1.  Buy second hardware and install the new version of CRS on the new hardware.  The historical reports would have to be run by the supervisors by pointing the HR client to two seperate clusters ( ie when they want to run an old report they point to the existing cluster hardware, when they want to run a new report for CRS 5.x they would point the client to new cluster on new hardware ).

    OR

    2.  Simply tell the executives and managers they will loose all old historical reporting data, this is simply unacceptable for most users.

Also, Custom prompts are not backed up, you will manually have to back them up and re-import them into Prompts Management.

Make sure you check that the JTAPI subsystem and RMCM subsystems come up and are "in service" after you do the upgrade.  Sometimes the "old softwares" user accounts stay in the CM and play havoc with this.

I would check the CRS 5.x administrators guide, or the installation guide, there will be a section that covers upgrade considerations.
