CRS Script Editor Crashes after 14% with XP

Hi All,

I am new to this forums, and i appreciate the work you guys are doing, This is my first post.

I am using XP sp3 on my laptop and whenever i try to open script editor as anonmous user it just dies after 14%. I have saw couple of bugs which asks to change the setting of my desktop appearence to "Windows classic sytle" or changing the compatibilty under script editor properties to Windows 2000 but of no help

CRS version from where i downloaded editor is 5.0(1).

 

Can anyone help me whats wrong?

Daljeet,

Check your Java Runtime Edition version.  Usually when I have seen the editor lock up and spazz out like that it has been due to the wrong or incompatible JRE or JVM.  The CRS editor uses Java in the background.

What's versions should be used for JRE/JVM? I am getting a similar failure where it will fail at 81% when loading; load window disappears and never see anything again. Read through the install instructions and there's no mention of min. requirements for JVM/JRE. Also, there was a "Note" indicating it had to be used with IE v5 or v6. Guide and CRS version I am installing/reading is v.7.0(1). Is that still valid?
